Summary of Basic Functions
Responsible for operating the assigned liquor department, implementing all operations, marketing and merchandising strategies in and for the assigned department, including the Fine Wine Program. This position requires some knowledge of all wine categories, and outstanding ordering and customer service skills.

Specific Functions
· Establish and build customer relations.
· Travel between stores in their market as necessary to assist the department objectives and promote sales.
· Assist in educating customers on buying wine.
· Executes the corporate plan to exceed liquor Dept. sales and profit numbers.
· Wine Steward primary role is to hand sell to consumers and trade up purchases.
· Order all Liquor Department commodities and maintain in-stock conditions at all times.
· Oversee and assist in all departmental replenishment.
· Plan and coordinate all merchandising following the LQ. Division monthly planner and weekly ads.
· Maintain all Alcoholic Beverage department schematics including warehouse and DSD
· Responsible for processing all discontinued items relating to schematic changes following the company’s policy of a 50% markdown on a 120 form.
· Responsible and accountable to maintain a LQ. Backroom % of 7% or less.
· Responsible and accountable for processing all LQ. Dept. warehouse and DSD invoices and track shortages to receive credit.
· Works with ICC and DSS on preventing Shrink.

Minimum Qualifications
· Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, peak hours.
· Maintains excellent attendance record.
· Complies with dress code consistent with associate handbook and store standards.
· Provides superior customer service to all customers, with a current PSR of 80% or above.
· Demonstrates leadership
· Demonstrates working knowledge of company’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Randalls / Tom Thumb Employee Handbook and Orientation Handbook.

Physical Functions and Methods
· Independent mobility in store and backroom. Standing and walking for up to eight hours. Frequent stooping and crouching and occasional climbing to stock merchandise onto shelves.
· Manual dexterity sufficient to handle merchandise and box cutter. Finger dexterity to handle small products and papers for stocking.
· Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers. Vision sufficient to read box and shelf labels, as well as aisle signs.
· Lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally, 30 to 40 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly. Push, pull carts with up to 70 pounds force.
