We are currently hiring for Meat Cutter!

To prepare and cut meat products. Maintain an adequate amount of fresh meat at all times. Provide a superior quality product that totally satisfies customers expectations.

Specific Functions

Cut and trim beef, pork, veal and lamb for display or as ordered by customers.

Clean and cut poultry.

Shape, lace and tie meat cuts by hand to form roasts.

Ground meat (different grades).

Fill customer orders and write up special orders.

Place meat on trays in display counters.

Receive, unload and unpack merchandise.

Clean and maintain work area, equipment and display cases.

Answer customer’s questions about types and cuts of meat and how to cook different cuts of meat.

Must have neat appearance and good communication skills.

Working knowledge of company’s policies and guidelines as outlined in the Randalls Employee Handbook and Orientation Handbook.

Knowledge of meat department and different cuts of meat, sanitation of equipment procedures. Cooking knowledge is helpful.

Successful completion of the new store employee orientation program.

Required Education and Experience

Six months previous meat cutter training is required!

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Working Conditions

Working in cold temperatures.

Working in a slippery and fast paced environment.
Physical Functions and Methods

Independent mobility within the department (slippery floors). Prolonged standing six to eight hours. Occasionally stooping and crouching to reach meat in cooler and/or stock meat in cooler area.

Manual dexterity to handle meat when cutting. Finger dexterity to handle papers.

Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers. Visual acuity sufficient to select meat and read labels.

Strength to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

Secondary Functions

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Help other less experienced meat cutters as needed.

Perform other duties as required.
