  • Overview

    The Senior Due Diligence Analyst – CLS is responsible for conducting due diligence financial reviews of GM Financial dealerships in support of the initial on-boarding process, in conjunction with the credit review process, to validate risk indicators, or in the support of ongoing risk mitigation activities related to portfolio monitoring and/or trouble dealerships. This position will utilize data from the floorplan inventory audit system, Operating Reports/Financial Statements, and the dealership's accounting system to evaluate the risk associated with individual dealerships and recommend an appropriate course of action to mitigate risk. The Senior Due Diligence Analyst – CLS may also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on an assigned portfolio of GM Financial floorplan dealerships based on risk-rating model and Operating Report/Financial Statement analysis.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Conduct remote and on-site due diligence financial reviews of dealerships
    • Analyze, manage, and report on due diligence financial review findings
    • Interface with multiple levels of dealership employees to accurately complete due diligence financial reviews and report findings to dealer principal or designee
    • Communicate due diligence findings to GMF Management
    • Monitor portfolio performance; report downgrades/upgrades in risk-rating, analyze Operating Reports in conjunction with wholesale inventory audits to mitigate risk within the portfolio
    • Coordinate with AVP – Special Assets to provide job knowledge transfer to other Commercial Lending employees to strengthen due diligence review skills

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    • Proven track record in commercial lending with emphasis in captive automotive dealership financing
    • Extensive knowledge of accounting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow
    • Knowledge and understanding of dealership operations
    • Thorough computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Working knowledge of Dealer Management System (DMS) software

    Skills

    • Strong analytical background
    • Attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency
    • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with dealership personnel, guarantors, and third party vendors
    • Interact constructively within reporting structure of GM Financial and across organizational boundaries
    • Display sense of urgency in completion of assigned tasks

    Additional Knowledge and Skills

    • Advanced accounting skills Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
    • Working knowledge of dealership management systems (DMS)

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or in related field or equivalent work experience required; CPA preferred

    Experience

    • 2-4 years of experience performing financial reviews and/or audits on-site at dealership facilities
    • 5-7 years of directly related professional level experience in an automotive commercial lending environment preferred

    Work Conditions

    • Commercial Lending Services is a high energy and fast paced department subject to stressful conditions
    • Significant travel may be necessary
    • Work schedule may include some nights, weekends, or holidays
